6. In Denver, until the promises of Blueprint Denver are delivered on, Historic District designation
remains the only regulatory tool available to provide some level of design review on new
construction. It's a difficult process and in any case only applies to relatively small sections of
Denver's older city neighborhoods. Here is a current effort:

7. Also in Chicago, assaultive residential development is a problem for existing homeowners.
Hard work is being done by the Chicago Bungalow Association to create incentives to re-use
wisely the existing housing stock. Similar strong effort is being provided by  Preservation Chicago
